Qualifications
Once the training programme has been successfully completed, the following qualification will be obtained:
The Certificate of Carbon footprint and climate change. This qualification will be issuedby Bureau Veritas Business School.
Why take this course?
Carbon footprint is the measure of the impact that the activities of a company, product or service have on the climate, in terms of the greenhouse gas emissions they generate.
This training course analyses the concept and effects of climate change, the main international actions on the subject, as well as the study of the carbon footprint based on the relevant standards: GHG Protocol, ISO 14064, ISO 14067, PAS 2050.
Who is it for?
This course is aimed at:
- Professionals involved in the environmental department of an organisation.
- Consultants specialising in environmental management and climate change.
- Auditors of environmental management systems.
- In general, senior and middle management, and technical staff from any sector who, without necessarily having training in climate change and carbon footprinting, have responsibilities related to reporting and communicating greenhouse gas emissions, identifying opportunities for reducing emissions and improving sustainability.
What will you achieve through the course?
Once you have completed the training course, you will be able to:
- Analyse the concept of climate change and understand the consequences of its effects.
- Identify the main international actions and legislation on climate change.
- Understand the concept of carbon footprint and its methodological basis.
- Recognise the most widely implemented carbon footprint international standards, their applicability, key requirements and differences.
- Quantify greenhouse gas emissions.
- Understand the fundamentals of GHG reporting verification in both the regulated and non-regulated sector.
Why does Bureau Veritas recommend it?
Measuring and reducing carbon footprint is a key aspect of sustainability and climate change mitigation strategies. In many areas it has already become a legal requirement.
Information on GHG emissions accounting is crucial to effectively manage, reduce and offset GHG emissions, as well as to reliably and transparently communicate progress on sustainability.
For these reasons, having the competences, that is, knowledge, skills and behaviours, related to GHG emissions accounting and reporting, is fundamental in a market and society increasingly aligned with decarbonisation commitments and policies, in order to achieve climate neutrality and zero emissions.
